Scrum Master Course: Agile Scrum Master Training
The Scrum Master Course develops the knowledge and skills needed to apply Scrum and Agile practices and perform the Scrum Master role in different contexts. The course covers the key Scrum concepts, principles, roles, events, artefacts and commitments, including the Scrum Master role, facilitation of Scrum events and collaboration between different members of the Scrum Team. It also explores practices such as Product Backlog Refinement, Product Planning and Release Planning.
We designed the Scrum Master course to be highly practical. More than 25 case studies and exercises allow you to apply your knowledge to real-world situations, develop facilitation skills and work through scenarios that may arise in the day-to-day work of Scrum teams. The course also introduces different Agile practices and shows how Scrum can be applied in real-world contexts, taking into account the characteristics, needs and constraints of each organisation.

The Scrum Master course programme covers the key concepts, principles and practices of Scrum and Agile:

Regardless on the course option, the students may receive a copy of the book “Scrum Handbook” written by Henrique Moura.

Scrum Master course formats
XPM Consulting offers courses in different formats. Not all courses are available in every format. Please check the available options for the course you wish to take.
Scrum Master training: classroom
Classroom training combines the presentation and discussion of key topics with practical examples and exercises.
Depending on the course, the training may include:
- Presentation and discussion of the main topics, with examples that facilitate learning.
- Use of relevant templates, checklists and other resources.
- Practical exercises and learning activities.
- Exam preparation questions, including module-specific questions and, where applicable, a final exam.
- Support with developing a study plan and, where applicable, guidance on the individual exam application process.
Scrum Master training: virtual and elearning
Virtual courses combine live training with the flexibility of distance learning. Sessions are led by the trainer and allow participants to actively participate, ask questions and complete exercises. During the training, participants can use whiteboards, answer questions, exchange messages and take part in Q&A sessions, among other features.
Since 2010, XPM has also offered elearning, allowing participants to study at their own pace. When a course is available as elearning, please refer to the elearning tab for information about the specific features, resources and terms of that format.
Scrum Master elearning training
Our Scrum Master course in elearning includes:
- Interactive lessons with audio and video.
- Hundreds of practice questions with explanations.
- Practical exercises with explanations.
- Learning games and memory exercises.
- E-notes summarising the key topics covered.
- A glossary of key concepts.
- Templates, checklists and examples that can be used in real-world projects, helping you put your knowledge into practice.
Access to elearning materials
Enrolment in an elearning course includes access to the course content for the period specified for the course.
The access period starts on the day the access details are sent, even if the participant has not yet started the course. The period is counted in calendar days, including weekends, holidays and public holidays.
European Certified Agile Coach (EC-AglCⓇ) exam voucher
If you purchase a course option that includes the European Certified Agile Coach (EC-AglCⓇ) exam voucher, you must request the voucher within six months of completing the training, either in person or virtually.
The exam voucher is an electronic code assigned to each candidate. It is valid for one year from the invoice payment date and allows you to take one attempt at the exam. The exam can be taken online.
Conditions
- Exam vouchers are subject to the terms and conditions of the organisation responsible for the examination.
- Exam vouchers are personal and non-transferable.
- Exam vouchers are non-refundable.
- Exam vouchers cannot be resold, exchanged or converted into cash.
- Unless otherwise stated, each exam voucher consists of an electronic code that allows one attempt at the examination.
- If you do not pass the EC-AglC® exam on your first attempt, you are entitled to a second attempt (Retake), which must be taken within one month of the first attempt. If you do not take the exam within this period, the right to the Retake is automatically forfeited.
- The candidate must request the Retake from XPM within two weeks of the first exam attempt.
Guarantee
Participants enrolled in the Classroom or Virtual Classroom options, who are entitled to a voucher for the European Certified Agile Coach (EC-AglCⓇ) exam, attend all training sessions and take the exam within two months of completing the course, may, if they do not pass the exam, attend another virtual edition of the course free of charge.
VAT
The prices shown are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.
For individuals residing in Portugal, a VAT offer is available for classroom or virtual courses, subject to the terms and conditions of the promotion.

How does Scrum Master certification preparation work?
Preparation combines Scrum and Agile training with practical exercises and exam preparation resources. The elearning includes videos, learning games, exercises and hundreds of practice questions, allowing you to consolidate your knowledge, practise the topics covered and become familiar with questions similar to those you may encounter in a certification exam.
Is the exam voucher included?
A voucher for one attempt at the European Certified Agile Coach (EC-AglC) exam, together with the possibility of a second attempt (retake), is included in some training options.

How many questions are in the European Certified Agile Coach exam?
The European Certified Agile Coach (EC-AglC) exam consists of 50 questions and has a duration of 60 minutes.

Yes. The Scrum Master Course is available in virtual and E-learning formats, depending on the training option selected. Virtual training takes place through live sessions with the trainer, while E-learning allows you to study at your own pace.
